A traditional tremolo is performed only with the tip of the Bachi. Below you can find various tremolo techniques using the Bachi in a different way.
Tremolo with handle of plectrum
Bachi handle tremolo on main body (Korokoro)
Bachi handle tremolo on 4th string (Korokoro Ito)
The Bachi is turned around and the sharp decoration on the handle of the Bachi is used to perform a tremolo on the 4th string. This sample shows this style of tremolo at various locations on the string (starting from near the bridge to a higher position, respectively numbered as P1 until P4). It is used in ‘Voice & Noise’, composed by Wil Offermans.
