Play for Paris

On the 20 - 21 November,2015, surrounded by full of audience, Junko Ueda presents her recitals of Epic Story of Heike at Maison des Cultures du Monde in Paris. In this tremendously difficult moment, what we need now is music. Let's play for Paris!

Montreal concert & workshop

On the 1st November 2015, Junko Ueda gives her recital "The Epic of The Heike" at Bourgie Hall in Montreal, Canada, performing four pieces: Dan-no-Ura; Shunkan; Yoshitsune; Gion-Shôja. This concert is presented with English and French subtitling. Next day, she presents her shomyo workshop at University of Montreal.

  • November 15, 2014, 18:00: Duo Ueda Offermans Concert at Kôfuku-ji Temple, Nagasaki, Japan. The program includes: Tsuru-no-Sugomori; Shunkan; Heike Duo and Ingen's Dream (with shomyo Buddhist chanting of Obaku-shu monks). Ingen's Dream is their special composition, dedicated for Ingen's (Chinese founder of Obaku-shu Buddhist sect) arrival in Japan 360 years anniversary.
  • December 11, 2014, 18:30 ~ 21:30: Shomyo Workshop at Ateliers d'ethnomusicologie, Geneva, Swiss.

Duo Ueda Offermans in Cattlar-Prades, France

On August 24th the Duo Ueda Offermans present a their acoustic duo concert at Chapelle Notre Dame de Riquer, Catllar near Prades (France). The event is part of the 8ème Festival Les Troubadours Chantent l'Art Roman en Languedoc-Roussillon. The duo - by Junko Ueda and Wil Offermans on flutes - performes a program of their works as well as some traditional Japanese pieces, including Heike Monogatari, Genji Monogatari and Tsuru-no-Sugomori. The origin of the Chapelle Notre Dame de Riquer dates back more than 1000 years.
